This video/animation depicts the water cycle, which nurtures and replenishes all water supplies–so long as human withdrawals remain within limits. At the beginning level emphasize just the concept that water is constantly recycled as shown. Later (Lesson D-10) you may emphasize the three “loops” described therein: a) surface runoff loop (which may cause erosion); b) transpiration loop: soaking in, held by soil, withdrawn by plants, evaporating from plants (transpiration); c) groundwater loop: soaking and percolating down to ground water, exiting through springs and wells.
