      It is significant to have kids note that regardless of the form of the animal, it has the same basic needs:
      a) food that will supply both energy needs and nutrients for growth and maintenance of the body.
      b) oxygen for oxidizing and releasing the energy from food
      c) a means for disposal of wastes

      The following is a diagram showing the internal anatomy of a grasshopper. Note how its organs are very different from those in humans in in terms of size and disposition. However, they serve the same basic functions: digestion, respiration, excretion, and circulation. Likewise it has a nervous system with sensory organs and a muscle-skeletal system.
