The following is a spectacular site. It uses satellite imagery to follow the pathway of water (surface runoff) from anywhere it may fall in the United States to its ultimate destination. Beyond showing how different regions (watersheds) merge into different streams and rivers making their way toward different locations, it shows topography, agriculture, and cities and towns along the way. It will be a useful aid for any number of different topics; It will also be fun for kids to simply explore different parts of the country and find intriguing places to visit. Make full use of pause and backup buttons.
