Discovery of Penicillin

The following video gives a biographical sketch of Alexander Fleming and his discovery of penicillin, a product of a common mold fungus. This was the first of the numerous antibiotics subsequently discovered and widely used. Before the time of antibiotics, 1943, countless lives were lost do to common infections, e.g, a splinter wound becoming infected could be fatal.
